Grass Tournament - August 15It's not too late to register for the August 15 Grass tournament in Fenton Park.

It will probably continue to be hot so prepare accordingly. When you are not playing, you should be sitting in the shade, drinking fluids, and staying cool. It is recommended that you wear a hat to keep the sun off your head and make sure to use sunscreen.
Also, remember to eat a good breakfast at least an hour or two before play begins. It is always a good idea to bring and drink plenty of fluids , as well as, eating small snacks throughout the day. Good snacks to bring are pretzels, fruit, nuts, and light sandwiches.

Pouliezos Verbally Commits to St. Louis UniversityHaley and her powerhouse 16 Gold teammates earned an Open bid to the 2010 USAV Nationals in Reno and earned the highest team finish in the age division in the Gateway Region.
As high school libero at Windsor High School, she has garnished numerous All State and All Conference Awards. This Spring, Haley was a member of the 2010 USAV Girls Youth National team that competed in Guatemala.
Congratulations to Haley and her family! We look forward to following her career for many more years to come!

Scot, captain of the state champion St. Louis University High volleyball team, currently plays for our 18 Gold team and will be continuing his volleyball career at the University of California San Diego.
Bravo to the other High Performance - STL athletes who made the Post Dispatch All-Metro teams. This year High Performance - STL athletes made up almost 70% of the All-Metro selections.

Sam and her powerhouse teammates on 16 Gold have earned an Open bid to the 2010 USAV Nationals in Reno. She plays high school volleyball at Edwardsville High School and has garnished numerous All State and All Conference Awards as an outside hitter.

In order to practice, all paperwork must be complete and the athlete must be registered with USAV through WebPoint.

Our goal is to form five teams of 10-12 players to practice 2-3 times per week for 4 weeks, which will compete in 2 in-town tournaments for the month of June.

USA defeated No. 1 seed Mexico 25-19, 25-21, 15-25, 25-17 in the finals of the NORCECA Girls’ Youth Continental Championship held Sunday in Guatemala.
According to the USA Volleyball Press Release, Haley had a match-high 12 digs and added 11 excellent service receptions on 26 attempts.

Alum Murphy Troy is This Week's AVCA Player of the WeekCongratulations to Alum and USC Trojan, Murphy Troy, who was honored as AVCA's Player of the Week (April 19th). He helped his team win two matches over nationally-ranked Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) foes. This is the third time Murphy has earned this award.

SpiritWear Sale With Dot the I Embroidery Tomorrow 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.Dot The I Embroidery, will be at SLSC tomorrow Thursday, March 18 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. They will have a table with samples of new products and order forms.
Some of the items that will be on display and available to order are: key fobs, luggage tags, sweatshirts, blankets, performance polos, headbands, canvas totes, kid's polos, and more. Vinyl Car decals and Richardson Ball caps in red, white, and navy will also be available for purchase on Thursday.
Dot the I Embroidery can also add numbers or names to warm ups, duffle bags, etc. They will arrange pick up and delivery to SLSC for these custom orders.
For those who don't have practice tomorrow, order forms and photos of the samples will be available on the SpiritWear website on Monday.
Warm Up Procedure Change - The Gateway Region board of directors voted at the March 5 meeting to follow the warm-up procedures in the DCR (rule book) effective immediately. Here is the exact verbiage from the DCR: “When one team has exclusive use of the court, the other team must either be at its team bench or out of the playing area. Warming up with balls at the team bench or the spectator walkways is not permitted.”
The referees are aware of the policy and will be enforcing it this weekend.
Concerns about this change should be directed to the USAV Rules Interpreter. Contact information can be found in the front of the DCR, page x.

Girls 18 Gold Win GoldCongratulations to our 18 Gold girls' team who won the Gold division of the St. Louis Powerleague! They defeated CYC 18 Blue, CYC 17 Green, SWI 18 Black, and CYC 15 Green on the last day to win the four day tournament.
This is the first time a High Performance team has won this elite tournament. A Team St. Louis team last won Gold in 2008. Current coaches Alyssa Deno and Casey Chernin were members of that winning team.

Andrea Beaty - Fab 50Congratulations to 18 Gold's, Andrea Beaty for being honor as one of Volleyball Magazine's 2010 Fab 50, honoring the top 50 volleyball players in the country. Andrea is continuing her volleyball career at St. Louis University next year.

Epenesa - 2009 Volleyball Player of the YearCongratulations to Samantha Epenesa, Girls 16 Gold, the 2009 Telegraph Large-School Player of the Year. A two year varsity starter at Edwardsville High School, Sam was a first team All-SWC member and helped her lead her team to their third straight Southwestern Conference championship. She currently is ranked third in Edwardsville hitting records books with 356 kills this season.

Boys 18 Gold Earn Open Bid in CaliforniaCongratulations to our Boys 18 Gold team which earned an Open bid to Nationals at the Southern California Invitational this weekend, losing only one match all three days and finishing 9th out of 80 teams. They are the first High Performance team in Club history to accomplish this remarkable feat.

Trivia Night - Feb. 27, 2010We are only weeks away from the most entertaining and fun Clubwide event of the year.
Cost is $25 per person / $200 per table. Beer, Soda, Fun and Excitement provided! Must be 21 to attend.
Profits from the sale of tables goes back to the participating athletes to offset their volleyball fees.
Register early as there are only 100 tables available and they will go fast. Registration forms are available online.
In Case of Bad Weather…In the event that the Club, a tournament director, or the management of the facility have determined that weather is too hazardous for travel, the High Performance - STL website, as well as the Director's cell phone will be updated with a cancellation message. This update will be posted as soon as a decision on cancellation has been made and received.
It is up to each individual player and coach to check the website and/or Director's phone message prior to leaving for practice when the potential for inclement weather exists. If the club, tournament director or a facility decides that weather is not too hazardous to cancel the day's activities, it is always up to each family to make their own decision on the safety of travel, and communicate to their coach whether or not they will be able to attend the day's activities.
Haley Pouliezos Makes USAV Youth National TeamUSA Volleyball has announced the 2010 Girls' Youth National team following a one week training camp at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Congratulations to 16 Gold athlete, Haley Pouliezos who will join the other eleven top rated athletes from across the country to compete under the leadership of Coach Jim Stone in the NORCECA Girls’ Youth Continental Championship held April 3-11 in Guatemala.

Welcome, Bill Ferguson of USC!The Club welcomes coach, Bill Ferguson from University of Southern California to SLSC tonight. Coach Ferguson is in his fourth year leading the USC Trojan men's volleyball program. Led by HP's own Murphy Troy, the Trojans look to make the NCAA Championship match again this year, only with different results!
Be sure to give Coach Ferguson a warm High Performance welcome this evening.
Player Profile Need to Be UpdatedAthletes 14 - 18s need to ensure that their player profiles are up-to-date. Many of the Qualifier tournaments create recruiting booklets for college coaches and require the information on the Player Profile. Jill cannot adequately complete rosters for these events without this information. Athletic test data will be entered by the Club once the test data has been received from SLSC.

Girls College Recruitment Seminar - Dec. 13, 12:00 - 2:30 PMThose girls on our 15 - 18s teams interested in information on the college recruiting process should attend this meeting at Maryville University's Monsanto Room. We will provide information on the recruiting process and what your options are as a family and player. Area coaches will be on hand to provide further feedback to those in attendance.

Washing Instructions for Jerseys• Before washing, turning the garment inside out will help to preserve twill or screen print.
• All garments should be washed in cold water.
• Never use chlorine bleach on any garments as it fades it weakens some materials.
• Do not put in dryer!! Should be hung to drip dry.
• Do not iron.
• Do not dry clean.

SpiritWear AvailableThe Spirit Wear web page has been updated with a variety of apparel and accessories. Check out the hoodies, polos, jackets, t-shirts, headbands, baseball caps, and visors.
Hoodies are available in youth, men, and women sizes. Polos and jackets, embroidered with the "HP" logo, are available in men and women sizes. There is a link to the UnderArmour size chart available on the web page.
Orders and payments must be received by December 1 to allow for delivery before Christmas.
Boys 11 - 14s Uniform Sizing - Thurs. November 19We will be having a uniform sizing for all 11 - 14s boys on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the St. Louis Sports Center.
If you cannot attend, contact Jill Gerber at jgerber@stlhighperformance.com and she will email you an online order form. Uniforms may NOT be returned for incorrect size selection at the time of order.
High School Boys UniformsAll remaining items are scheduled to be delivered Wednesday, Nov. 18. Jill will handout the remaining uniform items at practices on Thursday, 11/19, and at the beginning of Sunday's tournament on Nov. 22.
As we are handing out the orders, we are asking that the boys initial receipt of each item to ensure accuracy and receipt of all ordered items. We are not responsible for what your sons do with their uniforms following delivery.
Girls 11 - 14 Uniform SizingReminder that all girls 11 - 14s need to be sized for their uniforms on one of the following evenings:

Welcome Grade School AthletesWelcome to all our new Grade School athletes!
Player Membership accounts for the website will be complete by Monday night. Please, add the number of your age division to the end of your password, (i.e., "HPSTL12"). A Parent login will also be created for each player. You should receive an email after your account is created.

Boys HS ASO Order - Due OCT 30The order form for ASO ankle supports is now available on the

Orders are due no later than October 30. Please, mail forms with payment to the address listed on the form. Coaches will NOT be accepting orders from players directly.
Web Log InUser Names and Log ins have been created for each player and the one parent email that was listed on the tryout registration. This username and login grants you access to the Membership section of the website.
If you did not receive a user name and password or would like a second one for an additional parent, please email Jill with the first and last name and email for the new user at jgerber@stlhighperformance.com.
As teams are solidified, players will be moved as appropriate.
