History

In 2008 St. Louis High Performance Volleyball Club and Team St. Louis have combined two of the most successful junior-amateur volleyball organizations in the area into a single non-profit corporation, High Performance - STL.

Team St. Louis has earned national recognition coaching girls' volleyball at an elite level with its commitment to providing the most knowledgeable and qualified coaches possible. Since 1989, the Team St. Louis coaches have continually challenged their athletes to compete at the highest level. That commitment and that challenge have been validated by an amazing number of accomplishments. Team St. Louis's success has not been limited to this geographic area. A number of Team St. Louis athletes have been selected as High School All Americans and for more than ten years, 97% of the Team St. Louis athletes have received college, athletic scholarships. During that same time period, Team St. Louis finished first or second at least 14 times in national qualifiers. Its individual athletes have been named to the all-tournament teams and as all tournament MVP at USA Volleyball nationals while its teams have left with seven gold, silver, or bronze medals.

St. Louis High Performance coaches and players have earned national recognition by coaching and playing boys' volleyball at an elite level for almost nine years. With their commitment to provide exceptionally dedicated coaches to train players to play at their highest level, the founders of St. Louis High Performance inspired an exceptional record of successes. St. Louis High Performance coaches have coached players that have gone on

to their countries' Olympic Teams, the USA Junior National Team, NCAA All-American Teams, Youth National Teams, and Junior Olympic All-American Teams. They have coached over 100 athletes who have been named to St. Louis All-Metro Teams and over 150 players who have played on High-school State Championship Teams. Each year, several St. Louis High Performance coached players are invited to participate on the USA National Teams and in the USA National Camps. To date 87 out of 99 graduating St. Louis High Performance seniors have been offered scholarships to play college volleyball. Every year since 2001, St. Louis High Performance coaches have coached teams to Top-10 finishes at the USAV Jr. National Tournament, and in 2007 the St. Louis High Performance 18-and-under team became the first non-West Coast or Hawaii team to capture the 18 Open National Championship at the boys' USAV Junior National Tournament.

High Performance - STL Volleyball Club was incorporated as a Missouri nonprofit corporation to foster national and international sports competition and to support and develop amateur athletes for national and international competition in volleyball. Its Board of Directors recognized that this level of success its coaches and athletes had achieved could not be maintained without continued growth and improvement. In October of 2008, the St. Louis High Performance Volleyball Club Board of Directors voted to combine with Team St. Louis by acquiring substantially all of its assets and bringing in all of its coaches to offer the Team St. Louis girls' volleyball program as part of the programs and services provided by St. Louis High Performance Volleyball Club. Team St. Louis coaches and St. Louis High Performance coaches share a consistent philosophy and approach. In fact, some of the St. Louis High Performance coaches have been coached by Team St. Louis coaches or have been Team St. Louis coaches.

Through this combination, High Performance - STL Volleyball Club will be able to provide athletes — both boys and girls — with an exceptional environment for each athlete to grow both as a player and an individual.

Both boys and girls will find a structured program approach allows athletes to advance from age level to age level with the proper skill sets needed to compete and excel beyond their current age level. Each athlete and every family will find one Club committed to one mission.
